At long last, PROGRESS….

The County of Volusia has stepped up in a big way to support our mission. Volusia County is currently preparing an application to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to remediate the situation at the FEC trestle at Spruce Creek. 2025 may be the year that work actually begins on this situation, which has deteriorated for over 100 years. See the attached studies for more detail.

This is the FEC trestle at low tide with the obvious above-water exposure of the oyster bar. The only navigable water is an 8-foot wide, 24-inch deep section on the extreme right (south).
